Founding Story

From Traveling Retreats to a Permanent Home

Our Summer Camp was founded under the inspiration of Sushree Siddheshvari Devi Ji (Didi Ji), who established the Radha Madhav Society (RMS) in 1997. The first kids' summer camp was held in 2008 at Indian Springs State Park near Jackson, Georgia — a traveling retreat that grew with the community.

In July 2015, Yugal Kunj was inaugurated in Duluth, Georgia as the Atlanta center for RMS. Shortly after, the Harmony Youth Center (HYC) was developed as a dedicated wing for children growing up in a dual-culture environment. Since 2014, our camp has called this 15-acre campus home.

Today, we serve children ages 2 – 14 across a 10-week summer journey from May 25 through July 31, with caring counsellors, a vibrant community, and a deep commitment to each camper's growth in both modern skills and traditional values. Our 2026 theme is Panch Tatva — The Great Element Adventure.

Our Mission & Vision

Our Mission

To nurture the whole child — mind, body, and spirit — by blending modern skill-building with traditional Hindu values, in a safe, joyful environment where every camper is known, respected, and celebrated.

Our Vision

A generation of confident, compassionate young people who bridge two cultures with grace — articulate communicators, ethical technologists, and caring members of their community.

Philosophy

Our Core Pillars

Every day at camp is woven from these four pillars — a curriculum that helps children stay connected to their roots without feeling “out of place” in the West.

1

Cultural

Music, arts, crafts, dance, life skills/seva, and festival celebrations — grounded in Indian history, Sanskrit shlokas, and traditional instruments like the dholak and harmonium.

2

Religion & Values

Moral values, concepts of Hindu religion and culture, emotional intelligence, respect, and community service — helping children stay rooted in timeless wisdom.

3

Career & STEM

Hands-on STEM, robotics, and mindfulness. We show how modern tools can be used ethically to improve productivity and solve real-world problems.

4

Sports & Gurukul

Indoor and outdoor sports balanced with Gurukul-style sessions on Hindu culture and moral values, taught in modern classrooms equipped with high-end tech.
